Apple releases beta 3 for tvOS 18.3 and HomePod 18.3 [U]

Apple released new betas today, but only for two of its platforms. tvOS 18.3 and HomePod 18.3 have received new developer beta 3 updates, bringing them ahead of the rest of Apple’s platforms in the beta cycle. Update: Public betas have been released too, about three hours after the developer betas.

New betas only available for two Apple platforms

New betas from Apple have been expected for this week, but the ones that arrived today are only a couple of the updates anticipated.

Apple’s full roster of updates currently in beta includes:

  • iOS 18.3
  • iPadOS 18.3
  • macOS Sequoia 15.3
  • tvOS 18.3
  • watchOS 11.3
  • visionOS 2.3
  • HomePod 18.3

Most of the time, Apple debuts new betas for all of its platforms at once.

But today, it seems, only tvOS 18.3 and HomePod 18.3 are getting new releases.

This means that every other software update is still on beta 2, while Apple’s Home products advance to beta 3.

Overall, we’re not expecting more than a couple new betas before the public launch of Apple’s variety of forthcoming updates.

Last year, the company only had three betas plus an RC for its x.3 cycle. So far, we’ve seen a similar feature-light lineup with the 2025 x.3 betas. It’s been hard to find new features in most of Apple’s updates this time around.

We’ll keep you posted on any changes discovered in today’s new releases.
