Control Center keeps getting better, here are the newest iOS features

Apple introduced a major Control Center overhaul in iOS 18. But its work on the iPhone feature was far from done. Here are all the ways Control Center has gotten better with recent iOS updates.

Control Center has gained 12 recent additions

Last fall, iOS 18 brought a powerful new feature: the ability to fully customize your Control Center setup.

This change came packed with a ton of new controls to choose from. But ever since then, Apple has continued to debut new controls.

Starting in iOS 18.1 and continuing through iOS 18.4 this March, Control Center has gained 12 new controls spanning four categories.

Here’s what’s new:

Ambient Music

  • Chill
  • Productivity
  • Sleep
  • Wellbeing

Apple Intelligence & Siri

  • Talk to Siri
  • Type to Siri
  • Visual Intelligence

Connectivity

  • AirDrop
  • VPN
  • Wi-Fi

Measure

  • Measure
  • Level

Ambient Music controls are tied to a brand new Apple Music feature that debuted in iOS 18.4, which you can read more about here.

For iPhone 15 Pro users, the Visual Intelligence control added that AI feature for the first time. It was previously iPhone 16-exclusive.

Everything else above offers more convenient access to functionality that was previously available through other means. For example, you could already access Measure tools inside the dedicated app, or adjust AirDrop from inside Settings or the multi-control Connectivity option.

Apple’s trend of continually adding new Control Center powers will hopefully extend into iOS 26 this fall. The more options, the better now that users can fully customize Control Center to their needs.

Which of Control Center’s recent additions are you using? What do you still hope to see added? Let us know in the comments.
